Moving/renaming site folder

We moved a wp site from /rrf2/ to / and everything went haywire -  long less.css error. We read this https://djwd.ticksy.com/ticket/307319 and deleted less.css and less/layout.less.cache.
    The site runs again, partly.
First of all, wp itself now creates a folder new folder with the name of the old folder (rrf2) and puts uploaded content there (public_html/rrf2/wp-content/uploads/2016/10 - should be without the rrf2 part).

Second various graphics bits are missing (like the background and header logo). Uploaded the header logo again though theme options - image(s) end up at recreated rrf2 folder every time.

Oddly enough, looking at the site logged in as an admin, everything looks fine.

We've tried just about everything (deleting less and layout.cache, deleting the rff2 folder, deleting all local browser cache) and every time the rrf2 folder gets re-created and we are stuck. Btw, there's no isp cache to worry about.

We got bbpress and boddypress installed.

What can we do to fix this issue?

    Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble you had moving the site!  It was correct to delete the .cache and less.css file, as they needed to get regenerated again with the new paths, that's the only thing you need to do from a theme perspective.

The rest is unlikely to be theme related, but is probably due to some entries in the database or wp-config.php still referring to the old path. My suggestion is to check both of them out carefully.

    Hope it helps

    Regards
