Option to have colors different even in subcategories

Hello, we want to use colors in our categories and we know that the documentation says:

NB: any styling you make to a category will also affect its sub-categories.

But we want to keep the same URL structure we have been using as it is a news site, so we have a parent category called Editorias (Sections) and then the subcategories are a kind of Section.

Can you help us providing the means to change the behaviour and allow the color of the subcategory show up instead of the parent category (that has no color inputed anyway)?

    Hi there,

That is a limitation that came up for technical reasons rather than a specific choice, unfortunately changing the behavior would need several personal customizations which unfortunately aren\'t covered by regular support.
The file the mainly handles category behavior colors is located in partials/part-cat-options.php, if you might want to take a look.

A kind of workaround would be not to give any color to parent categories but to subs only, but I\'m not sure that would fit your needs.

    Hello,

So it is a tech limitation I see. It is ok. Then how about in a future update or a workaround to add an option to change the color of the home widget that can be different from the category color itself? It would work the same as changing the menu side color.

With this change the original behaviour would work and we could override it to show different colors in the homepage widgets instead.

We know that regular support does not cover personalized development and thanks for showing the file so we can dig more and try something :)

Thank you for your feedback. I\'ll consider adding that in a future update in case I get more requests in this directions.
