    Hi,

today I wanted to change the number of posts of the Mighty Mag Side Post Widget in my left main Hompage left area. After changing it from 5 to 7 suddenly all my previously shown excerpts were gone. If I try to enter a number it always vanishes after saving ant it is not possible to put in also selecting the invers color sheme was not possible any more.

After refreshing the site suddenly all widgets were gone. Then I tried to position them again and again after refreshing they are gone again. Now it is not possible to add any widget to the sections anymore.

I found that they are all under inactive widgets but it is not possible to bring them in place again!

    Pleas help!

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

    Hi there,

this is odd indeed. Please try to disable all plugins as first troubleshooting, as I see a JS error triggering in your console which might be the cause of the issue. Thank you

    Hi,

I tried to disable all plug ins one by one but it did not work out.

I also tried to delete the custome Javascript I added in >Design >Advance...

I am running Word Press 4.2.1. and MightyMag 1.6.5.

Do you have maybe any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

I suspect it might be a database issue then, in that case some DB cleaning tool might help. There are also plugins for that.

In case that doesn\'t work either, please provide admin access and I\'ll take a peek, thanks.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

there seems to be a javascript error triggering, caused by something related to MailChimp. Please check out everything related to it as first troubleshooting. Also the URL you entered in theme options seems to be wrong as it\'s starting with //

    Hi,

thats strange. I delete the hole Mail Chimp Goal Java script Code in the theme options and when I add an widget through the \"Customize\" option it is saved an shown. But it will not show the excerpt. Does not matter what number I put in for the excerpt 35, 40 or 50 it vanishes when you hit save.

When I try to organize the widgets through the widget menu it will not be saved and shown?

Maybe you have any ideas on that?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi,
That\'s strange indeed, honestly I never heard something like that, looks to be specific to your usage. I suspect there is some data corrupted in the database. If you already tried disabling all plugins, remove any custom code, clearing any cache you might have (plugins/CDN services), at this point my suggestion is to try on a fresh install on a new database, you can use the wordpress import/export tool to migrate content.

Sorry but can\'t think of anything else!

    Hi,

the widget under the customize option also was only shown for a short time and vanished than as well. Can this be a hint?
You sad that it is a Javascript error, did you see an error message, does it have an indication on the error.

Unfortunately I am not so sure what the fresh installation all needs, I found that I can check the box with \"all\" at the wordpress import / export tool, but does that really include everything?

Do maybe have any other last idea?

    Thanks, Chris

...maybe just replacing the php files necessary for the custom widgetized fields via FTP via the original files ?

could that be an easier option?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I just logged again in your dashboard and noticed that widgets don\'t get saved in your sidebars even with the default TwentyFiveteen theme enabled. This means there is a problem with the install/database which is not theme related. I suggest to use a clean database as replacing files won\'t have any effect.

    Hi there,

Really weird what\'s going on here, I was pretty sure setting up a new db would work.
Since this is happening also when switching to default themes and the free support only covers MightyMag related issues, can\'t provide additional feedback at this time. Perhaps it\'s a permissions problem, I would try addressing this to your hosting provider.

    Hi,

    problem solved!

I talked to my hosting provider and they said there are occurring some problems with the newer wordpress versions and php 5.3 and lower. With an upgrade to php 5.4. everything is working fine again.

    Thanks for your support!
And maybe this helps some other users.

    All the best,

    Chris
