that happens because the images featured in slider should be at least 694x350px, they don't need to be the exact size but bigger (they'll be automatically cropped then).
Do you think this is possible for you? Otherwise we'll find some other solution although I suggest to upload bigger images if you can so they won't look blurry.
But, i'd also like that smaller images wil adjust to the right size. The person who eventually will manage the site does (i guess) not know much about how to resize pictures.
I realized that fixing slider's height and consequently stretch the image to fill the area would need some careful coding as some simple CSS would take to several side effects. I'm considering including it in a future update though, for the moment please try to respect the minimum required size mentioned before, thanks.
