I have read the documentation and tried to make several changes and still can't seem to get a full page slider to show. I changed the templates and keep looking for an option but no luck.
The slider and that widget/side bar are also different sizes and don't line up.

Hi there,
the options to have a full page slider is in the (home)page options under the page editor.
Homepage options > Full width slider
Please run a plugin like Force Regenerate Thumbnails in order to crop your previously uploaded images for the theme.

Thanks. I did not receive notice that this was responded to. I will also try what you suggested re: the thumbnails.
