News Ticker Not Showing (And Other Issues)

The news ticker isn't showing up for some reason, even though the feature has been turned on and set up.

Also, when clicking on one of the share buttons (let's use Twitter for example) in an article, two windows pop up to share it. It's not a major annoyance but it's a bug nonetheless.

When setting up ad codes in the theme options, the option to enable the code to be seen on devices reverse to "No" after saving the page. I've customized my responsive ad codes for it and it still reverts no matter what.

Activating the tab sliders lead to the articles being displayed under each other, rather than being able to click on the category and new ones showing up. In the interim I've got it set to display only one group of three.

The final thing may not be a MightyMag issue, but the WP short links don't redirect to SEO friendly links. It shows up like this: http://tvsourcemagazine.com/?p=34180 instead of redirecting to a pretty link with the date/etc.

    Also:

    • This error shows up in the error log within the template: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /wp-content/themes/mightymag/index.php on line 15
    • Live search doesn't work. When I inspect the element, this shows up:
'Attr.nodeValue' is deprecated. Please use 'value' instead.
Uncaught ReferenceError: templateDir is not defined jackbox-for-mightymag.min.js:27
Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function

    Hi there,
thank you for your purchase and feedback.

I'll number the answers for better organization:

    1. I think there is a bug about the news ticker as it's not appearing for another buyer also. I'm investigating about this and will release a fix as soon as I can replicate the issue.

    2. This doesn't happen to me on your own site (Chrome/Win), can you tell me on what browser this occurs? Is it possible that is caused by some extension or similar?

    3. I were able to replicate the issue, I'll fix this asap in the next upcoming update scheduled for next week. If you're in urgent with this I can provide some temporary custom CSS.

    4. This is because there are some JS errors triggering in your console, which breaks the Javascript. Same thing for the Ajax Search. Please try to disable all plugins as first troubleshooting, and in case it fixes, re-activate them one by one to detect the possible conflict.

    5. I'm pretty sure this isn't theme related as MightyMag doesn't interfere with permalinks. Have you tried by resetting your permalinks in wordpress settings?

Hope this helps, and thanks for your feedback, unfortunately with new releases bugs happen,  they'll be fixed as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I LOVE this template and I'm going to leave you an excellent review. You are the reason why I chose to leave theme clubs.

    1) Excellent. I disabled it for the time being.

    2) I'm using Chrome/Win. I disabled all of my other plugins and it's still doing it.

    3) I can wait. No rush.

    4) I found out it was a conflict with NextGEN Gallery/NextGEN Pro by Photocrati. It was also the cause of the issues with #5.

NEW: The only other issue I've encountered is the inability to search for existing images in media library and within a post. Once again, all plugins were disabled. When I switched to the default Wordpress theme it worked.

    ---

Once again, thank you for the great help.

Hi, glad you like it and thanks for your understanding.
Glad some were sorted, btw I'm going to roll out an update in the next couple days.

    2. I tested this out again trying to click every social button of your site but yet can't replicate it. Only one browser window pops-out as supposed to. Please try testing it on another machine if you get the chance.

Are you referring to the live search or the regular search widget? SInce you tested it out with another theme I guss it's the regular search. That is odd as the theme doesn't interfere with regular wordpress search. Can you provide the steps to replicate this on your site? Thanks

    2. I'll try it on my work computer and see how that works.

I'm referring to the regular search widget in the admin panel.
