I'm not completely sure I got this right, although if you mean centering the content of the article entries (title and excerpt), you could do this by pasting this:
.boxed.entry-block {
text-align: center;
}
In the Custom CSS textarea (Advanced Tab)
If that's not what you were seeking for, I kindly ask you to provide a screenshot to make things easier.
If you look on the attached scree shot you will see the two widgets are not aligned. Also I dont see any of my pages anywhere in the theme, I thought for sure I would see some stuff before organizing the theme.
Is that the Facebook widget coming with MightyMag? As I just tested it out and it stretches to 100% for me. In case it is, I would need to see it in action to investigate this. You don't have a live link, do you?
Beside that, every other widget that is not from the theme, will just keep their default styling, this is normal behavior. If you wish to style (in this case, center) specific widget's content some custom CSS would be required.
It looks like Ill have to mess with the HTML code in the widgets then. I am still having an issue with my post content showing up anywhere in the theme. Any ideas on that one?
Sorry I'm not quite sure I got this right. Could you please add more details about this? your posts are not not showing when using homepage HP Category widgets?
OK I see whats happening. Somehow my old theme is removing the pages. When I switch back to my original theme I can see the custom categories and the pages within them, however when I switch to mighty mag all that dissapears. So I guess they are someplace I just need to associate them with the new theme somehow.
Is it possible that what we are calling 'pages' here aren't actually custom post types the other theme was using? From your description it looks like so, as standard WP post types should stay there when switching themes.
Yes Im probably calling them the wrong name. Basically the old theme uses mini sites and then the pages are added to those sites via custom menus on the dashboard. If i change themes I can still see those main minisite pages but not their sub pages.
See if you look on the left hand side in the picture you can see there are pages which make up the minisites, but the articles under each category like movies or games do not show.
Okay the issue is definitely with categories. If you take a look at the attached screenshot you will see that I have plaenty of populated categories. However, none will show up anywhere on the theme.
Unfortunately I don't know how "mini-sites" from the other theme worked, although being a theme-specific feature, they are unlikely to be transferred when you switch theme. You might want to ask for details to the other theme's author(?).
About categories please can you do the following:
1. Move to Appearance > Menus
2. Select Categories from the drop down menu on the left.
3. Add a category, for example "Blog Posts" to your Main Menu
4. Save menu
5. Move to the front-end and click the category you just added, do you see posts?
I left the default theme activated so you could see what I am talking about. I have uploaded your theme, and have deactivated all plugins, accept for the ones suggested by your theme.
I logged into your dashboard, and as I thought, your previous theme uses custom post types and not native WP posts. You can see that from the new menu items that appears in your dashboard when activating Flavour theme (Video Games articles, Music articles...etc). Furthermore, when you move to Posts > All posts and filter them by "Blog Post" category for example, no posts show up.
I created a regular post in the category and it shows up as expected.
Personally I do not understand this choice, as it makes switching themes very difficult! You should convert your custom post types into regular WP posts prior moving to MightyMag, but honestly I don't know how this can be done quickly. You might want to ask the author as he might considered this and can suggest how to proceed.
I reached out to the other theme developer and he pointed me to a plugin that will convert custom post types to Wordpress Standard. Now I am slowly getting some post to show up on the main page but am still having some issues with some content showing up. See attached.
Hi there, sorry about the troubles you're having, hope you understand is not MightyMag's fault, personally I think standard post types should be used unless a custom post type is 100% necessary, to avoid migration troubles
Anyway, I logged to your account and imported some widgets from live demo to your setup through a plugin (Widget settings importer/exporter), seems like your posts are appearing now. You can delete the plugin if you want and re-arrange widgets as you wish.
Thanks, I do understand that its not your fault. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the previous theme making it difficult to change themes. Their response was to reach out to a developer.
OK but if you click on any of the navigational items there is nothing there. Also Im guessing the posts with just a black picture are either because there is no feature image setup or the picture may be corrupt. Also whats the closest font to Veranda? I didnt see it as a font option.
Yeah sorry I though you were referring to the homepage.
I just noticed what's the problem now. You are linking menu items to pages but they need to be categories instead! I added the Blog Posts category to your main menu as an example, posts are showing up as expected now.
Wow, so this theme is completely opposite of my previous theme. I guess not I need to make new main categories and then adjust all my pages accordingly. Also, did you see me previous question regarding the font?
Is there away to centre the content in the widgets on the home page? I noticed that most of the content is aligning to the left.

No I dont see anything.
Well there's definitely something going on with your posts then, they might not be regular posts but a custom post type.
If you create a new post and place it in the "Blog News" category, will it show up?
Is there any way I can access your dashboard and take a peek?

Yeah Im not sure why this is becoming such a nightmare. Im still having issues with posts showing up even after converting them to standard posts.

Yes sorry forgot about that, unfortunately I don't know the font, searching to the Google Fonts list it says there's not font named "Veranda".
