I would need to see this in action to troubleshoot this, as from the screenshot it's not a known issue. As first advice I suggest to disable all plugins and in case it fixes, re-enable them one by one in order to target the conflict. If that doesn't work please provide a link and possibly admin acess so I can have a peek.

I actually didn't do anything, I just enabled the vertical carousel. Now I did it again and it appears fine, let's see in a few minutes. Although it would be pretty odd that layout breaks by itself, are you sure it's not a local/browser issue? Try to clear your cache or test it with a different browser, just in case.
Well my friend It seems to be working fine for me now. I have no idea why it had that glitch but if it happens again I will let you know because i am sure you would like to be aware of any potential glitches. Thanks again sir! BTW i have one more question for you. How can I remove the # of comments from the homepage, at the moment it says 0 for each post i'd like to remove that comment number. Thanks so much you really are the best ! Look forward to your future themes.

About your question, you would need some Custom CSS. Pasting this in the Custom CSS textarea (Advanced Tab) should work:

What worked for me: selecting vertical vs horizontal. Once I did that I won a slider. ;)
