I have looked through the documentation, FAQs and support threads and I still can't find the answers I'm looking for regarding sliders in the PowerMag theme.
I can't figure out how to surface a slider on a specific category page. There is a check box for 'Enable Featured Slider' but when I check that box nothing happens. So, I thought I'd check the box in the post for 'Feature this Post on Primary Slider', then it surfaces on the slider on the site homepage. If I turn on the secondary slider and chose 'Feature this Post on Secondary Slider', then a secondary slider appears on the homepage--which I do not want. Only then, does the slider appear on the category page, but it only surfaces the most 5 recent posts.
Can you please explain in detail how the sliders are meant to work with the categories?
Thank you.

As you say, posts need to be featured individually in primary or secondary slider, there is no option to loop posts from a specific category. In order to accomplish this some personal customization would be needed.
Thanks for your response. What about the slider on category landing pages? Does the secondary slider need to be activated in order for it to surface on those pages? And if so, how can I prevent it from surfacing on the homepage? I only want one big slider on the homepage. I want what you have on the demo homepage (http://powermag.djwd.me/demo-2/) and the Entertainment category landing page (http://powermag.djwd.me/demo-2/category/entertainment/) -- a big slider on homepage and smaller slider on a specific category landing page. How did you accomplish this in your demo?
Primary and secondary slider options are only referring to the homepage dual slider.
To activate the category slider instead, you need to enable the checkbox in your category options. Precisely in Posts > Categories > [your category] > Enable Featured Slider
