I really need to add an events calendar to my Powermag theme. I bought the X Calendar Plugin

off codecanyon but it screwed my site up (my not very technical term for through the formatting off)

Is there any way to fix this?

If not, I am now tempted to buy the DZS Calendar Plugin;

but don't want to waste money on another plugin that doesn't work.

Is there any reason why this shouldn't work and if not what alarm bells should I be looking out for?
